I just got back from Japan and the Osaka Fishing Show for Lucky Craft.  If you remember, I went there last year for Lucky Craft’s 20th anniversary and had a great time with the people at the show and the folks at Lucky Craft.

This year was no different, it was a great time, the show floor was packed and there were hundreds of vendors there.  There were a bunch of crazy booths again this year, but I didn’t get too much of a chance to walk around because I was doing seminars for Lucky Craft – through an interpreter.

I take that back, I did seminars on Saturday because Friday is a business day at the show.  Friday is closed to the public and is reserved for industry personnel, buyers and media, then Saturday is for the public, and it gets packed.
They said the show had 20-percent more attendance than last year’s show, which is an excellent thing, it’s always good to get more people at a fishing show.We showed the new Lucky Craft Magnum SKT crankbaits there at the show, and they were a big hit.  I can’t wait to get onto some of those lakes with giant shad, big bluegill and big bass and see what kind of damage we can do with this thing.

I got back after an 18-hour flight and a bunch of jetlag which took me a couple days to get caught up.  but, I couldn’t let too much time pass, I had to get ready for the Classic.  It was time to pack up the TroKar / Havoc big Rig and get it on the road.  It’s on the road now, headed to Tulsa but my boat will meet it there, so it’s the Big Rig and my tour trailer which is empty.  I’m sure it looks funny, but the boat will get loaded on it when I get there.

I got some really cool stuff here this week from my sponsors.  I got some new Victory Wide Spool reels that are gonna be excellent for big line fishing, along with prototypes of my new spinning and casting reels and a really cool Victory rain suit from Wright & McGill Co. too.

So, the business is all done for now, and it’s time to go focus on Grand lake and trying to bring home Bassmaster Classic title number two.  It’s been a long off season and I’m ready to get to crackin’ some heads on the water.
