John Murray – West Point Wrap

Bucks Falcon Mercury

MurrayBlogIt’s after practice; I just got in; TJ is watching Barney; I’m going to have a little dinner, jump in the shower and go to sleep.

Anyway, this lake is totally different; Murray is very different than it was last year or three years ago. It is full, it looks different, it acts different. There are a lot of fish in this lake, getting them to bite is another story. It has been sort of a calm day and that is usually a tough day on this lake so if we get some weather it will cause them to bite a little bit more. There are plenty of fish on this lake to do well.

Last week was very frustrating. I had one good bite all weekend, and about a four pounder jumped off that cost me a check, so one of those tournaments that you know another one that just goes by where “coulda, shoulda, woulda “ type of deals.

I got on a pretty good bite the second day throwing a Rover 98, shallow. I caught almost 11 pounds and had a couple more good hits. After that I went up the river and tried to get a big one, I just never did, so it was all I could muster.

West Point is a nice lake, plenty of fish in there, I just made a bad decision that first day, went to some fish that weren’t biting, at least for me.
So now we are going to stay here at Murray and try to catch some fish; it is do or die time trying to win one and to get back in for a shot at the Classic.
Really didn’t want to have to fish all the Opens all summer, but it looks like I’m going to have to.

Anyway, we are having a great time; TJ and I are having a great time and we are just hoping to catch a fish sooner or later.
