Mark Menendez – Getting in the Outdoor Office

Power Pole

MenendezBlogThis will be my Bassmaster Classic this weekend!  I will be fishing the largest local event on Kentucky Lake.  My cameraman Jeff Pierce and I will be looking to do better than last year’s event.  We were a respectable 20th out of 350 entries last year.  The weather is shaping up for a nice day this Saturday. Entries should be high!

I expect the Tour Grade Titanium Umbrella Rig to be a real player this weekend.  I have my Lew’s swimbait rod, Lew’s Super Duty reel, and 50lb Kansen braid ready.  This umbrella is made of titanium wires.  It pulses and undulates like a reel school of baitfish.  The wires are so thin that they do not produce any drag in the water.  It makes it so much easier for the angler that casts one all day!

I have also been a stay at home dad.  I witnessed a play my daughter was in on Saturday. An 8 year old actress is what I saw!  She did a great job.  We went to her favorite restaurant to celebrate.  Just a real added bonus not being on tour this year!  I could get to like the activities for sure!

The kids are on the bus.  I’m going to make a break for the lake.  This is more of a maintenance period than a prefish.  It will be nice to be back in my office …  the front deck of my Skeeter!
