Skeet’s Beat – ICAST 2012

Bucks Skeeter Yamaha

Skeet's-Beat-New-HeaderICAST is over and I’m back home with Kim and the Girls.  It was a great week with lots of media to work with and a good chance to show off all of the new stuff my sponsors came out with.

I spent most of my time on Wednesday in the Pure Fishing and Wright & McGill Co. / TroKar booths talking about my new signature products.

I showed off my new Berkley Havoc Sick Fish and Pit Trailer for jigs.  Everybody that saw the Sick Fish was asking when they’d be able to get their hands on them and the Pit Trailer is one of the beat overall jig trailers I’ve ever used.

I released three new models of my signature Wright & McGill Co. Rods and unveiled a whole new color scheme for the whole line.  We launched a new Alabama Rig rod, a new big Swimbait rod and a new Punchin’ rod that is designed to give us more leverage on bass in heavy cover.

The new blank finish on all of the rods has more of my favorite color down through the handle.  They really look cool, and all if the dealers that saw them said they look really good.

TroKar released some new hooks, including saltwater styles for inshore fishing that I’m really excited about.  I really love fishing for saltwater fish, and now I’ll have the best hooks on the market when I do.

Lucky Craft launched some new colors I worked with on a few lures, but my favorite new bait there was the Gunfish 135 topwater.  I told them I wanted a heavy bait that had three hooks and sat flatter in the water, and they came up with the Gunfish 135. I’m really excited about that one.

They also released a new jerkbait, the Flash Pointer 115.  This bait has got some serious slashing action that will get a lot of strikes.

I also got a real surprise in the Lucky Craft booth.  When I was in Japan for the Osaka Show, I donated a signed jersey to help raise money for the victims of the earthquake / tsunami that caused so much damage there a little over a year ago.
Some of the fans over there got together and got me a couple of items that are designed to bring me luck over the next year.  I can’t tell you how much it means to me that they thought enough to do that for me, and I had the guys at Advanced Angler do the video below to show everyone how thoughtful they were.

Hope you all have a great week, talk to you later.
