The ModZ Blog – TackleModZ at the Suffern Show

Power Pole

FermanTackleModZHeaderLocated in the fieldhouse at the Rockland County Community College in Suffern, NY, about 30 minutes drive from the TackleModZ offices; The Suffern Show as it is affectionately called locally is something I look forward to every March. I had planned to spend all four days at the show this year, but nothing changes plans like looking outside in the morning of the first day and seeing more than two inches of snow on the road; especially when it’s falling at a rate of an inch an hour.

So, you can imagine my excitement Friday morning when I woke up to find the roads not only clear but unoccupied. After jumping in the car and making it up there just before the show opened; followed by a quick stop in the show office, I was fully immersed in one of my favorite activities.

The truth is not everyone does tradeshows and expos the same way. Some people use them to buy things, some to browse, others are there to learn or network, and obviously some also attend to teach or sell. Though I’ve found that for some with a sales and marketing background attending tradeshows tends to either be a dreaded necessity or a gift. I happen to be one of those sick people who loves literally every aspect of tradeshows and expos. They are like crack for the marketer and salesman inside me and I look forward to them in ways I frankly don’t think are proper to mention in public.

After missing the first day I was excited to run around and say hi to a number of people, check out the newly modified layout of the show floor and search for some fun stuff to share with you. I anticipate some of those things being the Riot Baits products available for purchase, new innovative packaging from TuffBait, super lightweight a-rigs from Shane’s Baits, Daddy Mac Lures, first year Elite Series professional angler Paul Mueller, and the USO charity drive. So check out the photos and video included in this blog post.

If you are in the Suffern, NY area and looking for something great to do the show is open all weekend. 9:30AM to 7:00PM Saturday & 9:30AM to 5:00PM on Sunday. Forget the cold and head on out to the Rockland Community College Fieldhouse today or tomorrow, I promise it’s nice and toasty warm inside.

Today there will be special seminars by Brandon Paluniak throughout the day. Tonight at 5:00PM there will be special charity hunting & fishing auction to benefit the USO hosted by my friend and Bass University Emcee Bill Decoteau… You are DEFINITELY NOT going to want to miss that!

I’ll be back at the Suffern Show again later today and will be bringing you more coverage of the expo throughout the weekend on social media… Be sure to follow @TackleModZ on twitter and like the FB page to see more!
