2014 WON Bass U.S. Open Event Info

Full Field payout over $50,000.00 CASH plus a Nitro Z-8 / Mercury 200 hp Optimax to 1st place.

168 anglers are signed up to fish this years U.S. Open. The final number of boats to start the U.S. OPEN on Monday morning could still go down by a couple boats, as a few have succumed to the brutal Lake Mead conditions during pre-fish. The anglers, local boat shops and factory support teams will be working hard to get the boats ready to go, and will continue throughout this years tournament to keep the boats going the distance. The U.S. OEPN can be brutal on equipment, and on the competitors too. It’s a massive lake with brutal desert heat that can turn into a baja-like thunderstorm with only a few minutes notice. So it’s always a battle of both the angler and his equipment.

Be sure to tune in here during the U.S. OPEN and follow along to our LIVE Costa Broadcast. There will be daily broadcast each morning, a live webscast during the weigh-in each day, and an evening re-cap each evening. It’s almost like being there in Las Vegas or out at the lake at Mead, and it’s all brought to you by our great sunglass sponsor COSTA. The times and dates will be up here very soon, and once the event starts we will also have some photos up and of course the final results will be posted after the weigh-in ends.

The more than full field will likely add an additional 3 spots to the number of placing checks, and a another $22,000 or so added to the published, full field payback. So there is a ton of money, prizes ( including a Nitro Z-8 with a Mercury 200 Optimax outboard) and the coveted U.S. Open title at stake. We are excited to get things started, and check back here for the exaact times of our live COSTA webcast from the U.S. OPEN, live from Las Vegas, Nevada and Lake Mead.
