Buck Knives Gives Splizzors to Skeeter Pros for Classic

Buck Knives will be working with Skeeter Products, Inc., one of the leaders in high performance bass boats, to provide the new multi-purpose fishing tool, the Splizzors, during the 2014 Bassmaster® Classic. The “Skeeter Team”, made up of 12 elite anglers, will try their luck and skills February 21-23, on Lake Guntersville in Alabama.“Skeeter is proud to provide Buck Knives’ Splizzors to all of our anglers fishing in the Bassmaster Classic in Birmingham,” said JoAnne O’Bryant, Promotions Manager for Skeeter Products, Inc. “We wanted to provide them with another tool they can use to bring home another win!”

Introduced at 2013 ICAST, the Splizzors have quickly gained popularity among fisherman. The innovative design efficiently combines the use of scissors and pliers to create a versatile tool that will cut braided line effortlessly, while quickly removing hooks and lures. The Splizzors use edge to edge pressure, 10X that of normal scissors and weigh in at only 8.3 oz.

“Our Splizzors were created utilizing the concept of Elite angler Bill Lowen, and feedback from angler Brandon Palaniuk, along with Mark Davis of Penn’s Bigwater Adventures,” said Bob George, Director of Sales and Marketing of Buck Knives. “The product was continuously field tested throughout the stages of development by a variety of experienced anglers. With these men utilizing the Splizzors, they will have more time for casting and catching, and a better chance at winning the tournament.”

The Splizzors also integrate a large and small crimping tool into the design, allowing for split-shot crimping. Along with these features, the tool utilizes a Dynaflex® rubber handle, bottle opener and a lanyard hole. All the features, designed into one product, pack easily in a nylon sheath for safe storage and secure carry.

Buck Knives currently sponsors two of the anglers on the Skeeter team-Brandon Palaniuk and Bill Lowen. Other members include: Todd Faircloth, Tim Johnson, Jordan Lee, Alton Jones, Chris Zaldain, Cliff Crochet, Yusuke Miyazaki, Mark Davis and Dean Rojas. This year, a total of 55 anglers will compete for over $1 million in prizes.
