COATESVILLE, PA (February 28, 2013) – HI-SEAS Pro, Cliff Pace, takes home the title of 2013 Bassmaster Classic Champion held on Grand Lake in Tulsa, OK. .On Sunday, February 24, 2013, 32-year old Hi-Seas Pro, Cliff Pace of Petal, Mississippi added the title of World Champion to an already long list of achievements he has racked up in his tournament fishing career. Pace is recognized as one of the very best of the elite group of professional bass anglers who competed in the Classic and for many, this win was just a matter of time.

When asked about his choice of line Pace said, “I’ve trusted Hi-Seas products with my livelihood for the past five years and during that time I have won over $1 million and a World Championship. That pretty much says it all!”

Pace took the lead on Day One with an impressive 21-pound catch and never looked back. He followed it up with another 21 pounds on Day Two. Both days were tough fishing and Pace said he was only getting a handful of bites each day, but things would get even harder as temperatures plunged going into Day Three. Using jigs and trailers fished on Hi-Seas Fluorocarbon line he got just two bites in the morning and nothing else until 1:30 pm in the afternoon. Line sensitivity and abrasion resistance allowed him to hook and boat every fish to finish the day with four bass weighing over 11 pounds putting him solidly in first place with an impressive 54 lb. 12 oz. three day total!

“I caught my fish on Jackall Squad Minnow and Soul Shad jerkbaits; a Jackall DD Cherry crankbait and a half-ounce V&M Football Jig with a Twin Tail trailer,” Pace reported. “I had Hi-Seas Fluorocarbon on every reel on my boat! I use it for pretty much everything except topwater baits and fishing in really heavy cover where I use Hi-Seas Wildfire or Grand Slam Braid.”

HI-SEAS Sales Director, Steve Miller, experienced the proud moment when Pace earned the title,  “Witnessing Cliff win the Classic championship title was a heartfelt and emotional moment that I will never forget. We are honored to be associated with such a gentlemen and world class fisherman who has worked so hard and been very patient waiting for this moment.  Cliff’s knowledge, commitment and love for the sport of fishing is very impressive.  Five years ago when we started our relationship, he said how much he believed in our HI-SEAS fishing lines and hasn’t wavered since.  We pride ourselves on making the highest quality products and I too am honored to be a part of this journey.”

“Hi-Seas Fluorocarbon line has low stretch so it enhances sensitivity, which is really important when the fish only move two inches when they bite your bait,” Pace explained. “It improves my presentation, makes it easier to hook fish in deeper water and is very abrasion resistant. The biggest fish I caught on Sunday morning was stuck in a brush pile. When I set the hook it didn’t move. It was over a limb or something and I just held it for a few seconds until it finally swam out. When I got it in the live well the line was scuffed up, but it held. I give credit to Hi-Seas for catching that fish!”

“We are very proud of Cliff’s Classic victory, and we are enormously honored to be associated with him and his achievement.” said Mike Shields, VP Sales & Marketing. “Cliff has helped us engineer class-leading fluorocarbon lines, some of the most advanced monofilaments on the market today, and the toughest of braids – all of which are turning heads and winning the customers over to Hi-Seas.”
