ABU GARCIA PROS HEADED TO CLASSIC
2014 Bassmaster Classic features six Abu Garcia pros

COLUMBIA, S.C. (February 18, 2014) – Ask any angler on the B.A.S.S. tour which single tournament they would rather win and each would tell you the Bassmaster Classic. There is no bigger title in the world of professional bass fishing. The Classic takes place on Lake Guntersville, Ala., February 21st – 23rd. Six Abu Garcia pros are vying for the title this year.

Abu Garcia pros included on the list are Josh Bertrand, Hank Cherry, Mike Iaconelli, Bobby Lane, Chris Lane and Brandon Palaniuk.

This list includes a star-studded class that is in the mix for any title on the water. Past Classic Champions Mike Iaconelli (2003) and Chris Lane (2012) are certainly able to pull out the victory. Bobby Lane is looking for his shot at the championship, especially after watching his brother hoist the trophy in 2012. Brandon Palaniuk, Josh Bertrand and Hank Cherry round out the team.

“It is anyone’s ball game out there,” said Palaniuk, 2013 Classic runner up. “Guntersville is just a place where big numbers can be posted. If you’ve made the Classic then you always know there is a chance. You keep fighting until you’ve weighed your bag then you see where you’ve landed. Hopefully it is on top.”

Entering their second year on the Elite series, Bertrand and Cherry are both out to prove sophomore slumps are a myth.
