Dave Lefebre – Bass Fishing and Music

Bucks Skeeter Yamaha

LefebreBlogI decided to fish the PAA on Douglas Lake, TN next week and I’m excited!  I spent the last week in the boat customizing everything from the trolling motor pedal to the electronics and feel like my boat is finally mine now.  For the first two events it was like fishing out of a top 10 boat, and the weather at home prevented me from getting the boat here to work on.  Plus the kids are both in school this year so we would basically go to the tournament site, practice, fish the event, and then head back home… no time to work on the rig or play. So I’m very happy to get it all customized and comfortable finally.

I’m heading south tomorrow morning and this time my Chevy HD is not only packed with fishing tackle but also a bunch of music equipment, lol.  I’m taking my bass guitar, bass amp, Taylor acoustic, cajon, and some other miscellaneous stuff.  As I mentioned last week, I’ll be playing with Dylan Scott and his band at the day three weigh-in at Beaver Lake, assuming I don’t make the top 10 cut, how’s that for a win-win?

I guess we might do some acoustic stuff as well throughout the week and maybe even a few live radio appearances too.  I’m really looking forward to all that, I love music – miss it – but I wouldn’t trade fishing the tournaments to go back and do it again.  A little taste will work just fine for me.  Who knows maybe I’ll get to be involved throughout the remainder of the season from time to time, that would be cool.  Music and bass fishing… you can’t beat that combo!

Anne and the kids will be driving down to Tennessee for a few days next week and then heading home, while I take off for Beaver Lake straight from Knoxville.  I’ll be soloing it in Arkansas for the 3rd FLW Tour major, rooming with my good buddy, Lackie for the week.

That reminds me…I have to pack some earplugs because somebody snores like a horse!!!!

Since I’ll probably be awake, I’ll be posting on Facebook – follow me there.
