DENVER – January 30, 2014 – World Fishing Network, the leading entertainment destination and digital resource for anglers throughout North America, continues to deliver fresh content and new episodes from nearly 30 shows during the month of February. Highlights include season premieres of the Professional Tarpon Tournament Series and Fins & Skins along with new episodes of World Fishing Network originals World Fishing Journal and Hookin’ Up with Nick & Mariko.

The Professional Tarpon Tournament Series from Boca Grande Pass, Fla. is the largest of its kind in the world. Host Joe Mercurio and shore reporter Sheli Sanders cover the action for this 13-week television series that starts Saturday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. ET on World Fishing Network.

Fins & Skins showcases the best from on the water and links. Each week, host Harry Waszczuk is joined by a celebrity guest as they travel to top fishing and golf destinations for some fun competition on both land and water. Fins & Skins begins Sunday, Feb. 23 and can be seen at 7 a.m. ET and 4 p.m. ET.

Delivering a new episode the first Sunday of every month, World Fishing Journal brings together a roster of talented sports producers to craft engaging, story-driven features based around the angling community and fishing industry. Episode 5 segments include:

One-on-One with Aaron Martens : A profile on the 2013 Bassmaster Angler of the Year, Aaron Martens. Martens, who makes his home in Alabama, also claimed the honor in 2005 and is perennially ranked among the top-10 anglers in the U.S.

The Sea to The Strip : Las Vegas, known as the Entertainment Capital of the World, is quickly growing an impressive reputation for its culinary fare. International superstar chefs have been bringing their award-winning seafood brands to the Nevada desert for years. This exclusive look shows that ordering seafood in Vegas isn’t a gamble as we meet some of the best in the business and learn the process of where it was caught, how it traveled and how it is prepared.

Varsity Fishing : Fishing is fast becoming the high school sport of choice for many teens. Throughout the U.S., young anglers, with a little help from parents, friends and sponsors, are forming competitive fishing teams. Momentum is building for ‘student anglers’ to have an option to traditional sports as they don a jersey and represent their school at competitive fishing events.

Boca Chica, Panama: Nick and Mariko journey to Central America and Boca Chica, a small village located in southwest Panama.  Come along as they commandeer a tour boat for their own mission, then get offshore with an expat to check out what they can find.

Cabo San Lucas/East Cape, Mexico: Nick and Mariko find themselves on the remote beaches of Cabo’s East Cape, located on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. The surf shows them a couple of rooster fish and the game is on.  Barely offshore, they tangle with some Humboldt squid on the migration then make a textbook play on what to do when the dorado start biting.

Crystal Coast, North Carolina: Nick and Mariko check into the Crystal Coast and check out its legendary waters.  From offshore success with wahoo and mahi mahi, to dockside fun, they find time to take in all there is to do along North Carolina’s Southern Outer Banks.

Tofino, British Columbia: The duo travel to Tofino, British Columbia, on the far side of Vancouver Island, where they sample the waters both dockside and in the rain. It’s a few days of beverages, salmon, chanterelles and shiners along the coast of the Pacific Northwest.
