Boyd Duckett – After Day Two – Improvement

Bucks Skeeter Yamaha

DuckettBlogMaybe, just maybe, the Duckett Comeback Tour is on track.

It was a good day, and it’s about time. Today at Bull Shoals, I made what I’m pretty sure is the largest single-day jump I’ve ever made in an Elite Series event. I had a 20-8 bag and went from 64th places after the first day to ninth at the end of today.

The interesting thing was that today wasn’t that much different from yesterday, as far as pure fishing is concerned. Yesterday, I had two two big bites and I lost them. Today, I had three good bites and caught them.

If there’s any bad news, it’s the fact that I’m fishing about a long, long way up in a muddy area. I’m fishing about a quarter-mile from Brandon Palaniuk, who’s way out in front. If his fish leave him, mine are probably gone, too. He’s found a great spot, and he’s not moving much.

Ish Monroe’s up here, too. He’s had two pretty good days.

I think I’ll probably catch them again tomorrow. It would be nice to get a Top 12 finish. I haven’t had one of those in a while.
