Bassmaster Classic Practice Day Midwest Snowfall Map

With the start of the Bassmaster Classic a mere 84 hours away, and the angler’s Official Practice Day set for tomorrow, weather advisories have turned a little more dreary – for Wednesday at least.

While previous weather reports had been for cold and perhaps a little rain as little as a week ago.  Now it appears that the Midwest could receive some fairly significant snowfall.  It looks as if the area around Northeastern Oklahoma will get somewhere between one to three inches of snow.

Official National Weather Service forecast is for some snow, some sleet, and better amounts of freezing rain Wed, Wed night, and Thursday.  With a blizzard expected in northern Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and northern Missouri. Grand Lake will be close to significant snow, as winter storm watches are now on in two counties north and one county east of Grand Lake.

The National Weather Service is anticipating low Friday forecast at 27, low Sat forecast at 21, and low Sunday forecast at 30 – UPDATE – The National Weather Service has now named this incoming storm – “Winter Storm Q”

Thanks to friend, longtime industry writer and Major League Fishing editorial team member Lynn Burkhead, we have the information above, and the map showing what the area can expect to see in the area.  The red circle highlights the area where the 2013 Bassmaster Classic is being held.

Could make for an interesting twist to the 2013 Bassmaster Classic Story.
