John Murray – Farm, Fair, Family and Smallies

Power Pole

MurrayBlogAfter ICAST and the U.S. Open I basically just spent as much time as I could hanging out in Illinois with Amy and T.J. and Amy’s family.

While we were there, we went to see TJ’s cousins and had some good fun up there. We took some time and went stream fishing out on the Fox River. I caught a nice 2 ½ – 3 pound smallie and a bunch of other small ones just wade fishing out in the river. That was fun; a different change of pace, something you don’t do in Arizona, that’s for sure!

I spent a little time just getting ready for my two tournaments at Lake Erie a big fair that I took TJ and all his cousins to. We all camped out in the motor-home for the week and just had a lot of fun! So, we had a couple of very relaxing weeks hanging out in Illinois, just enjoying what is there. TJ and Amy had a great time around the family.

Now, I am back in Buffalo, New York fishing an Everstart Tournament on Lake Erie. Lake Erie is my favorite lake and I’m having a lot of fun and catching a lot of fish. I haven’t caught a lot of the kind you need to do really well, but caught a lot of really good small mouth; it has been a really good couple of days.

Been laying pretty low the last week, had a family reunion last Saturday over in Iowa and other than that I have been doing chores around the farm; mowing and stuff like that. It’s been a pretty lazy couple of weeks and now it is time to get back to fishing, so looking forward to getting out here and see if I can find some of those giant smallmouth and do really well in the tournament.
Then, I follow up the Everstart event with a B.A.S.S. Northern Open on Lake Erie at the Sandusky Side.
