Stephen Browning – Started Strong, Finished Stronger

BrowningBlogHey guys, Stephen Browning, and I just wanted to talk about fishing hard right up to the end.

It is kind of like; I’ve got a motto this year – start strong and finish stronger; and you know, that is exactly what happened to me at the Bassmaster Central Open on the  Red River a little over a week ago.

You know, I kinda struggled a little bit each day, but you know, I kinda kept my head in it – well, I did keep my head in it…it wasn’t kinda, I did keep my head in it and kept positive all day and just tried to fish harder those last couple of hours than what I had in the past.

Sometimes when you find yourself struggling you just have to reach a little deeper inside and get in your mind and try your best to shake off the demons that want to beat you down.

I had important last minute  catches every day.  I caught a cull fish just before I had to leave Sullivan’s area on day one on a Z-Man Chatterbait – probably helped me out about a pound and a half.  I catch a last minute fish on day two about four and a half pounds that helped me out .

Then I had a real good flurry that last day had I not been fishing hard, may not have been in the position to win the Central Open and qualify for the 2014 Bassmaster Classic.

That’s the key Start strong – finish stronger.
