Ever since Kevin VanDam won a Bassmaster Elite Series event on the Kissimmee Chain in Florida in 2008 on a Red Eyed Shad lipless crankbait, then followed it up with a 2010 Bassmaster Classic win at Lay Lake in Alabama, the bass world has known how good a Red Eyed Shad is.

But, let’s not forget that it is an excellent fish catcher – no matter the species of game fish you are targeting.

Watch as Lew’s and Strike King’s Director of Pro Staff and Media Relations, Mark Copley uses a 3/4-ounce Red Eyed Shad and a Lew’s Custom Inshore rod and reel to tame a strong Venice, Louisiana redfish while on an outing with Lew’s pro staffer Captain Blair Wiggins.
