Voting Underway for WFN Ultimate Fishing Town

DENVER, Colo. – April 16, 2013 – Voting is underway to determine who will advance to the final round and be crowned the 2013 WFN Ultimate Fishing Town in the U.S. and Canada.  This is the opportunity to win a $25,000 community donation or one of eight $3,500 regional prizes to be used towards fishing-related causes along with an awareness and tourism boost with a special feature produced by and aired on WFN.

“We’re excited by the positive response we’ve seen for Ultimate Fishing Town during the nomination phase and look forward to that passion and enthusiasm carrying over to the first voting phase,” said Senior Director of Marketing for WFN, Pam Stinson. “Now we really get to see their spirit shine as people rally around their town and take great pride in showcasing their community.”

Nearly 700 towns in the U.S. and Canada received nominations and are eligible to become the next Ultimate Fishing Town. Anyone can vote for his or her town of choice at UltimateFishingTown.com up to four times in one 24-hour period. Earn up to eight extra bonus votes by referring a friend through email and sharing on Facebook and Twitter:

•    Earn up to six bonus votes for referring your friends through email

Town walls have been populated with videos, photos and written comments to promote the community’s candidacy and reinforce why the town is deserving of Ultimate Fishing Town honors. Ultimate Fishing Town has been divided into eight regions for 2013 with three in Canada and five in the U.S.  Regional finalists will be presented to voters on Friday, May 3.  Public voting for those honors begins at 12 p.m. MT on May 3 and runs through 11:59 a.m. MT on Friday, May 24.

The community receiving the most votes in each country will garner a $25,000 grand prize to be invested in fishing-related causes in the community, with eight $3,500 regional prizes also to be awarded for the same purpose.
