Dave Lefebre – Get it Over With Memories, Steelers and… Well, Just Read It

Bucks Falcon Mercury

LefebreBlogI just got home from Mitchell’s Gymnastics class. He and Macy are both getting really good. That’s one of the downsides of traveling sometimes in that they miss quite a few classes and have to work extra hard to catch up, but I’m so proud of them both. Tonight Mitchell learned a new twisting dismount from the high bar, looks scary to me, but thankfully he’s not afraid of heights like his Dad. I’m scared of a lot of things actually, which you’ll find out later.

I’ve got my complete Dobyns arsenal figured out, can’t wait to rip some lips with them. I got my new Reel Grips for my new Revo Premiers all paired up. New color this year, and I will say I could go out in the woods with them and no one would mistake me for a deer. I’m in the process of getting all my line spooled up too, mostly Berkley 100% FC, a little Spider Wire too. I’m praying that my boat is wrapped and ready to go for Okeechobee in a couple weeks, it will be close. I’m running a Z-521 again for the 4th season in a row, love everything about that boat. It makes driving in 10 footers almost fun; I said almost.

Speaking of that, some may remember back in the old Northern Everstart days I broke my old Skeeter in half on Lake Erie out of Detroit, MI. My partner and I thought it was the end, kinda like how I felt this past Saturday night (I’ll explain later). Well in that long 25 miles of chaos, I also lost my wedding ring somehow. So it took me a few years, but I finally replaced mine and Anne’s wedding rings last week. I think she likes them.

Super Bowl here we come…I hope. Pittsburgh beat Baltimore on Saturday and the Jets are coming to town next week thanks to a Pats meltdown. The whole family got together to watch the game, didn’t look too good at half time, but Pittsburgh came alive in the second half and pulled it out. It was nerve-racking as usual. The Jets will be tough, but their trash talking will not work against the Steelers like it did Brady and Belichick. I say 29-17 Pittsburgh wins. I’d like to see the Bears win too in the NFC, but I think Green Bay will probably take it.

The Steelers – Ravens game was tough, not only for the players but for me too. I spent most of the second half in the bathroom or on the floor next to the bathroom door trying not to throw up, LOL! I don’t really know what happened. I hate that. I haven’t been sick to my stomach in about 15 years, can you believe that? It’s true, I can remember every time like it was yesterday and I hope it’s another 15 before I have to go through it again. I made it that entire night after the game, I was up all night fighting it, but at 9:00 Sunday morning it got me. And wouldn’t you know it…it really wasn’t all that bad like I remembered it to be. And when it was all finally over, I never felt so good in my life!

I can say I learned a very valuable lesson through it all and I feel like a new man. I feel like I’m going to win every single tournament this year now, lol. Anne called me a drama queen and said from the very beginning I should get it over with, well she was right about the second part. Next time I will know better.

I’m a wimp when it comes to puke, baby poop, blood (from humans), ants, rotten fish and a few other things I’d rather not mention here. It’s a weekly blog…just keeping it real.

I’ll tell you my rotten fish story next week…
