HomeblogsDave Lefebre – Lake Hartwell FLW Just wrapped up official practice for the first FLW Tour Major on Lake Hartwell. South Carolina is an awesome place in the spring. We are staying at Tiger Cove just across the lake from Portman Marina where we will taking off each day. The weather is cool here, it actually dipped into the 20’s this morning, but it is supposed to get a little warmer each day. It’s nice to finally fish an event when the conditions are improving for a change. It was in the 80’s the day before we got here and then those bad storms rolled through and it cooled off. Despite the cold front and nasty muddy water, my practice was good. Whether or not I can catch winning type weights remains to be seen. I’m just not sure what my potential really is, but I know I’m really excited to get started. I’ve got three completely different patterns all working and I’m not even sure which one will be best come tournament time. I plan to start close to take off, see what happens, and then go from there. This is my favorite time of year and I like this lake a lot, I just wish the water level wasn’t so low. Fantasy Fishing begins this week and your 10 man teams have to be submitted by tomorrow night. I made the top 10 here last year and have a pretty good feeling about it again this season, but you never really know. My only concern is how much damage the umbrella type rigs are going to do here; I will not be throwing it. Go to www.fantasyfishing.com to play
