HomeblogsIsh Monroe – Starting a Five Week Run Well, on to a five week run – started out at Oneida which didn’t go as well as I’d hoped, but now I’m off to the St. Lawrence River for the next Elite Series event and I’m pretty excited about that. Just finished with ICAST and free practice for the FLW Cup. ICAST was great; got some new products coming out. My new River2Sea New Jack Flippin’ Hook is definitely going to be the deal which I am super excited that you guys get to fish – now you don’t have to tie a snell knot – you will get that same cavitation hook-up. After ICAST I was off to the Red River – got some free practice there a little bit; fish to be caught – figuring out how to catch the big ones – fish Ish’s Phat Frog definitely going to be in full effect on the Red River, lily pads; wood; grass – can’t go wrong there. And then, off to Oneida – an event that I won two years ago and an event that I was really excited about just throwing a frog and flip the whole time. I always feel like have an opportunity at winning there, and because I’m not fishing the whole Northern Opens, I don’t need to fish for Angler of the Year points just fishing for the money and to go for the win. But, it didn’t work out. So, now I’m out to Thousand Islands, for the Elite Series, then back to the Red River for the Forrest Wood Cup; then to Detroit for the last Elite Series event ; hopefully I will be All Star Week qualified and then moving on to our first Major League Fishing event for the year. I’m super excited; this five weeks going to be on a hard run trying to tear things up. And, I will let you guys know how things went over the five weeks.
