John Murray – A Good Start to Summer

Bucks Falcon Mercury

It has been a good first couple of weeks of June.  I ended my tournament at Dardanelle and we have a little bit of a break, about a month and a half break before the next elite.  So that means family time.  I’ve been out on Watts Bar Lake in my backyard fishing.

We had a kid’s tournament on Saturday here in our hometown that we attended and helped out with down in Spring City.  TJ fished it and had a good time, but I think those catfish in the pond got him all stirred up, so he went bass fishing the next couple of days and caught a couple big ones.

He caught his personal best, a 5.77 largemouth and another 4.57, so he’s really caught some big bass here on our home lake.

Now we’re on our way to our family farm in Illinois.  And, you guessed it, they’ll be more fishing, playing in the creeks and catching crawdads.  It’s always nice to be just catching up with family and hanging out to.  Amy will be flying up Wednesday so we’re going to have a good day, a good week up here.

Then I’ll be going to a Bassmaster Open at the end of the month up at Oneida Lake, and I’ll keep you up to date with that tournament.  That should be a fun one, I love going to Oneida for an bass tournament

But, June has just been sort of fun, we’ve had good weather, good fishing, and enjoying my time off.  I’ll spend a couple days before the open getting ready and getting everything regrouped for our smallmouth fishing events over the summer.

Overall it’s been a good start to our summer break from the Elite Series and I’m looking forward to the rest of a great summer this year.

Talk to you next time
