John Crews’ Jersey Auction for Autism Awareness

Bucks Falcon Mercury

Salem, Va. – April 11, 2014 – John Crews and Missile Baits are combining to raise awareness and funds for autism awareness again this year. April is Autism Awareness month. Last year, John and Missile Baits combined to raise over $1600 for various autism charities and lots of awareness. This year, John has a specially designed jersey to wear during the month of April that features the interlocking puzzle pieces that is a symbol for autism awareness. In addition to the amount raised on the jersey, Dave Mercer, B.A.S.S. emcee and TV personality, is going to match the donation to Autism Speaks.

Missile Baits is going to donate a portion of their sales during the month of April to a particular autism school called the Vista School (www.thevistaschool.org). On the Missile Baits web site, there is a limited supply of autism awareness T-shirts and lapel pins, which have 100% of those proceeds going to the Autism Society. Each of these items for sale has the My Little Buddy’s Boat logo, which is an autism awareness nonprofit that benefits various charities and was started by avid bass angler, Eli Delany.

The jersey is signed and live on ebay at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=231200866649&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:1123

Crews says, “Last year went great for raising awareness and funds. I think we can really do much more for raising money and awareness. Dave Mercer has joined the effort and I hope more people will help spread the word. The CDC just updated the statistics on autism now effecting 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42 boys. Autism is increasing and I am going to do all I can to let everyone know about how alarming this is and how many people this effects.”
