Dave Lefebre – Valentine’s Day Fun

Bucks Falcon Mercury

LefebreBlogHappy Belated Valentine’s Day!

Well I am not talking to you from my ice shanty as expected, and I’m not talking to you from PA either, ha ha. With the help of my Facebook fans (thank you) I was able to convince Anne that we need to stay where it’s warm until the next tournament on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina.

We have a lot to do back home but we are going to try to get it all accomplished through phones, emails, and faxes…we should be fine…I hope. So now we have two weeks before we need to start driving north to Hartwell. We left Clewiston on Wednesday and headed to Ocala for the remainder of our time in Florida. We are going to visit Glenn Browne and his family and hopefully do a little fishing, maybe even hit Disney World a day or two.

DaveLefebreValentinesI wound up 23rd in the first event on Okeechobee. I had a good area as it turned out, better than I had thought, but a few bad breaks cost me a run at the top 10. I’m always relieved to get out of Florida with a descent finish though, and at least I did that and got some good points and a good check.

This was a mentally tough tournament with some harsh weather conditions, I’m glad I was able to get a couple quality bites each day, it very easily could have went the other way. I did lose a 5 plus lber on day two that hurt my feelings pretty bad, I’ll be thinking about that one for quite a while.

We haven’t had much time to do much as a family during the last week. Anne and Mitchell have been working extra hard on school work so we can play a little more in the coming days. We did manage to get out for a couple hours and catch a bunch of bass on shiners. That is so much fun, it blows your mind how many fish are actually in this lake when you toss a bobber out there, lol. We have a pile of big shiners left in the live well, so we plan to go out again and try out another spot that Steve Daniels told me about. I’d like to thank Steve and also Tom Mann Jr. for hooking me up on the shiner deal…it’s a ball!

I will be doing the FLW Tour Re Caps this season again on flwoutdoors.com, so keep your eyes open for those. And, as always, you can follow me on Facebook throughout the season, which is now officially underway. I’m looking forward to a great year!
