HomeblogsStetson Blaylock – Kentucky Lake Preview Kentucky Lake is fishing different this year. The biggest difference is the “grass factor”. Due to the lack of rain and the water levels, there is a lot of grass in this lake that typically isn’t there. That should spread some anglers out. However, with the water down, I think I am going to stick to ledge fishing. It’s paid off for me in the past and its been pretty good during practice for me. It’s just hard to find fish over three pounds. If I can get one good four plus pound fish each day I think I’ll be in good position. The weather is setting up great for the event so I expect some big weights. Largemouth like consistent weather so the fishing should be good. If I had to guess, I think it will take over 18 a day to win this event. I think 17 pounds a day would be enough to make the top ten. You can follow all the action on FLWOutdoors.com throughout the weekend. I am hoping to take STP wrapped Ranger-Mercury boat out on the water over the weekend with a shot at winning this event. My pre fish was solid, but it is fishing, so we will see.
