Tony Coatney – Crappie Time on Grand Lake

Bucks Falcon Mercury

TonyCoatneyGrandLakeCrappieIt’s that time of the year here on grand lake, when the crappie start moving in to the docks just before they move to the banks to spawn, yesterday I found a dock in the mid lake area that was holding a lot of really good crappie.

They where staged in the boat slips in about 10 feet of water, I was flipping a Bobby Garland Electric Chicken bait that I use a lot here on Grand Lake with my Lew’s spinning reel, with a 1/16 jig head, on 6-pound Sunline. Our length limit is 10 inches long and we’re only allowed 15 crappie per person; which wasn’t a problem for us to fill our limits yesterday.

We caught some two pounders and the biggest was 2.3 that’s pretty good here on Grand.  Our crappie have really come back strong the last couple years, if you’re looking for some really good eating fish, come try Grand Lake’s crappie, it doesn’t get much better.

TILL NEXT TIME GOOD LUCK FISHING TONY COATNEY http://www.grandfishingwithtonycoatney.com
